Kara Noelle Judd

I finally got a chance to update the blog after Cheryl had the baby on tuesday. Bonnie called me at work a little before 7:00 a.m. on tuesday the 24th to tell me Cheryl had been admitted to the hospital. I came home and we hopped in the car and drove to the Kaiser by Cheryl's house. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. Cheryl got to the hospital at 5:15 a.m. and had already received an epidural when we arrived. Because this was a VBAC, the birth could not be induced so we were concerned that she might not be able to complete labor and have to have another C section. She was in labor for a little over 12 hours and was fully dialated by 5:55 p.m. After an hour and a half of pushing, Kara Noelle Judd was born at 7:29 p.m. She weighed a whopping 8lbs 13.3 oz. and was 21 inches long. Uncle Jared came up about 6:00 p.m. and Bonnie and I brought Allie to the Hospital afterwards so she could meet her new sister. She was very happy to see her sister and gave her lots of kisses. Bonnie has been with Cheryl this week to help her while she is recovering. I should have my wife back by wednesday.

Scott kept Cheryl supplied with ice chips because they
wouldn't let her eat or drink anything before the birth.

Kara, a couple of minutes after she was born...all stickey
and gooey.

Here's Kara... all 8lbs 13.3 oz. of her.

She even had a little bit of hair.

Scott and Kara getting aquainted.

Allie sees her little sister for the first time.

Allie is so cute, even in her cousin Easton's PJs.

The next day Allie really took a liking to Kara.

So much so that she had to kiss her.

All the girls.

My little grandbabies.

Allie needs some new polish.

Picture perfect.
